About me

Wesleighs first taste of kart racing was when he went to watch a kart race at Vereeniging Karting Circuit. Wesleigh comes for a competitive family where his father Hugh participated in F1 Power Boat and Rubber duck racing, and racing was in Wesleighs blood. On seeing the kart race, he appealed to his Dad to buy him one; it was on the condition that he would achieve good results in his first race.

Wesleigh entered his first race at the age of 7 and did exceptionally well, and this was the beginning to many great achievements in his racing career.

On his achievements Wesleigh was invited to participate in races in Italy at a very young age with Birel and so his European career took off driving for: PCR South Africa / Italy 2004, Swiss Hutless 2005, CRG Italy 2006. and Intrepid 2006.

Karting was put on hold for a while when he was invited by team JL racing in Mexico to participate in the Formula Renault Panamgp series in 2007.
